Operator. Advisor. Investor.
Mike started as a developer in a late-90s startup before moving into executive roles — building and scaling technology and professional services firms from the inside. He's been responsible for strategy, operations, acquisitions, and the cultures that make both work. That operator experience continues to shape how he advises founders today.
37% CAGR over 10 years. 7× on the Inc. 5000 and 5× on the Inc. Best Places to Work — during the same years — before its strategic sale to Momentum in 2021. After the sale, Mike continued leading the acquired business unit: repositioning, additional acquisitions, and full business transformation.
Across his career, Mike has led five acquisitions and been involved in three successful exits, with 85% client retention and 90% team retention post-acquisition. The operating experience that informs Flying Geese Partners is not theoretical — it's the work.
Mike is actively involved in serving at his church, sitting on multiple nonprofit boards, and mentoring others. The boards he serves on focus on work he cares deeply about — youth and community programs that meet people in schools, hospitals, and hard places, as well as organizations that equip men to be present husbands, fathers, and leaders. The through-line across all of it is coming alongside people.
