How we handle information you share through this site.
The short version
Flying Geese ("we," "us") runs flyinggeese.com as a way for people to learn about our consulting and partnership work and reach out to us. We collect only what you give us through the contact form, plus minimal technical information needed to keep the form working. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising. This page explains the details.
Information we collect
From you, when you fill out the contact form:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your company name (optional)
- The kind of inquiry you selected (consulting, investment or acquisition, or general)
- The message you wrote
From your device, automatically:
- Your IP address — held briefly in memory (about an hour) to rate-limit submissions and discarded after that.
- Standard server logs from our hosting provider, kept for short periods for security and operations.
- Basic, anonymous usage data via Vercel Web Analytics — page views, referring site, country, device type, and browser. No cookies are set, no personal identifiers are collected, and no individual visitor is tracked across sessions. This helps us understand which pages people find useful.
We do not run advertising pixels, marketing trackers, or behavioral profiling on this site.
How we use your information
- To read your message and reply to you.
- To route your inquiry to the right inbox internally based on what you selected.
- To prevent spam and abuse (Google reCAPTCHA, rate limiting).
- To understand, in aggregate, how people use the site — which pages get visited, where visitors come from, what devices they use — so we can improve it.
That's it. We do not use your information for marketing emails, behavioral profiling, or to train any model.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers we use to operate the site:
- Resend — sends the email containing your message to our inbox. (Resend's privacy policy)
- Vercel — hosts the site, runs the form's serverless function, and provides anonymous usage analytics (Vercel Web Analytics — cookieless, no individual tracking). (Vercel's privacy policy)
- Google reCAPTCHA — checks that submissions are from real people, not bots. (Google's privacy policy, terms)
- Google Calendar — handles booking when you schedule an intro call; you enter your name and email directly in Google's booking form. (Google's privacy policy)
We may also share information if required by law, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
We don't sell or share your information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act. We have not sold or shared personal information in the preceding 12 months, and we have no plans to.
Cookies
This site does not set tracking or advertising cookies. Google reCAPTCHA sets cookies that are strictly necessary for it to work — without them, we couldn't tell legitimate submissions from bot traffic. Because they're strictly necessary, we don't show a separate cookie banner. The embedded Google Calendar booking form on our booking page may also set or read Google's own cookies, particularly if you're signed in to a Google account.
How long we keep things
- Contact form messages: retained in our email inbox per our normal business records, similar to any other email correspondence we receive.
- IP address (rate-limit cache): ~1 hour, then automatically discarded.
- Server logs: short retention by our hosting provider; we don't keep separate copies.
- Aggregate usage data: retained by Vercel Web Analytics for the period defined in their service; we don't keep separate copies. Records are aggregate counts, not individual visitors.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete information we hold about you, or to opt out of certain uses. To exercise any of these, email contact@flyinggeese.com with the request and the email address you used to contact us. We'll respond within a reasonable time.
We honor Global Privacy Control signals where applicable. We don't discriminate against anyone for exercising a privacy right.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you're a California resident, you have the rights described above — to know what we collect, to access or correct it, to delete it, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Because we don't sell or share your information for advertising, there is no separate "Do Not Sell or Share" mechanism to invoke. Contact us at the email above to exercise any right.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has submitted information through the form, email us and we'll delete it.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards — encrypted transport (HTTPS), reputable service providers, and minimal data collection — to protect what you share. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged in some way visible on the site. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
